We were not really ready for this week on the set of Merlin being the last ever. Few days before the big day, some tweets from the crew were announcing the end, then their filming block went from 8 days to 3... We really didn't know what to expect.
Monday September 10th, after going to bed at 5:42am (precisely) because of a report to finish, waking up at 9:08 making impossible to be at school at 9:30, nor 11:30... and not even at 2:30pm, because I have to pack, must print my report, find my long lost cds, cookies to buy for the car drive... oh here's a tweet from Eoin saying it would be awesome if France and Ireland could become one same country so he could have our croissants and our nice weather... Except that with our natural luck, we'd get the Irish weather, and that's eventually what will happen but we're not there yet.. Anyway 4:30pm I'm at school with my report, and my suitcase, my laptop, my huge purse... Yes we are STILL talking about Pierrefonds, but you need the entire context :-)
Leaving school and going to Gare du Nord train station (which is just next to my school), waiting for Leeloo who has been stuck in traffic for the last 45 minutes, not even moving of one inch! Welcome to Paris dear! She's finally here and we go towards the Eurostar to pick up Sarah, Jenny and the Flags. That's when Leeloo tells me "isn't it the woman from Pierrefonds?" yes, that's her! We start to wonder... Eoin's been in France for some time and has probably eaten kilos of croissants by now, he can't still be at the station, she's probably picking-up some crew. The Eurostar arrives and I'm amazed by how many people cross the Channel every hour. We try to spot Sarah and Jenny, keeping an eye on the Pierrefonds lady because, who knows? A blonde lady goes towards her, introduces herself, and some other crew members follow... They are still waiting for other people to arrive which makes me realise that they don't even travel all together. Our 2 Brits arrive, hugs, welcome, and in the middle of the crowd behind them, who is that?? RayBans on, fashion hair cut, Bradley James himself, with an expression telling us how happy he was to be back to the snail eaters' country. Or maybe was he preparing himself to live his last days as King of Pierrefonds. I take a photo and he notices, giving me the "really??" look... It's okay Bradley I'm not going to come to you or try to talk to you... Anyway we have to go because if some people go to Compiègne by train, some others (us) have to drive and that might not be the best time of the day to drive in Paris.

Everyone in the car, fields, woods, Parc Astérix "Je ne comprends pas je suis anglais", trees again... After a one hour drive (we've never been so fast!), we're on our way to the hotel. We try to find a parking spot, and finally find one in Compiègne main street (so the only one with cars moving). We need to take a small street to walk to our hotel and "I'm hungry!!! Where are we having dinner??" (yep, that's me just in case you were wondering). We have 2 options, a Chinese restaurant on our left, or another restaurant on our right. As we pick the Chinese food, I look though the other restaurant's window and "that's guy in the restaurant looks like Bradley " *voice inside: Alie stop it! Not everyone is Bradley* but "hey the friend of the guy who looks like Bradley looks like Tom! and... That's Eoin's hair!" Forget about Chinese food! Who wants spring rolls whan you have knights eating steak across the street? We quicly go to our hotel, check our faces in the mirror and off we go! Let me tell you that it's very hard to focus on your steak when you can hear Bradley's laugh and meet Eoin's eyes everytime you look up.
As they are about to leave, a family asks them autographs. Tom and Eoin do it with smiles as Bradley seems to have disappeared. We could have used this occasion to go talk to them and everything, but we kind of were in the middle of our meal and we didn't really feel like leaving our food for some seconds with Gwaine and Percival. So they just leave, together as a cute couple, walking down the street to... wait that's our hotel this way!!! They wouldn't!!!! Anyway it's dessert time! And dessert is a success! Nothing left! Time to go back to the hotel wondering who we're gonna meet in the street (no one!). And we discover there's another hotel just across the street from ours, and that's a fancier hotel than ours, so that's probably where they went. (We were already imagining having breakfast at the same table than the knights but whatever).
We're tired and a long day is coming, so we watch tv and quickly fall asleep...
