Oh look!!!! Three old ladies who do old religion spells in an old cave.
They seem to be looking for something in the water. Maybe that's their way of fishing, who knows?
oh no apparently they found what they were looking for.
So they can come out of the cave, which is nice. And there's a man kneeling, which is always nice too.
Oh!!!! So that is what they were looking for in the water. It's pretty. What is it again? So the old lady wants Osgar to take the thing because it seems that Arthur's fate is in his hands now.... So the coin is Arthur's fate.
Back in Camelot, Mordred doesn't look very happy.
To be honnest Arthur doesn't look very happy either.
But that's maybe because Mordred is kicking his royal butt.
Oh no wait, Arthur just woke up and is now kicking Mordred's knightly butt. So basically there's a lot of butt kicking in Camelot today.

I wonder if all we're gonna get from Merlin now is this sad little face. He is jealous. He wants to congratulate the king.
But the king is too busy congratulating the newbie.
Merlin : (in his head) I hope you die little one!
Arthur : Isn't Mordred amazing??? And did you see how well he fought earlier??? And don't you think he is the most adorable that ever walk the earth???
Merlin : Sure... (in his head) You've got to be kidding me! Wasn't i the adorable factor in this show like 5 episodes ago??

Gaius isn't completely blind and he knows something's up with Merlin concerning Mordred.... Gaius is old and wise... for once. But Merlin doesn't want to forget what he saw in the cave back in episode 1.... Gosh Merlin get over it and just enjoy having this cutie in the castle.
Later that day, or on another day (it's really hard to keep track in this show) Leon has some bad news. (And let's take a moment to admire the fact that my Gwaine is so cool he gets to put his elbow on the council table and pretend he doesn't care.)
Osgar has been intercepted but the guards in the East of the kingdom and to escape he used his powers and killed Ranulf... Yeah i don't know who this is either but Arthur seems really sad about the news.
Wait he listens, the news needs to go all the way to his brain...

Everybody is really sad actually. He must have been a pretty important person this Ranulf.
Even Merlin is upset... Who was that guy????
Arthur : Ok guys!!! Let's go and get that Osgor guy. We'll show him what we're made of!!!!! Yeahhhhhhh!!!!
Gwen isn't so sure about the whole "let's risk our lives for the sake of one dad guy" operation.
But apparently Arthur knew Ranulf ever since they were boys and he was not only a knight but also a friend. (which is why this is the first time in 5 series that we hear of him.... but i get that the writers chose to concentrate on my Gwaine).
Knock knock...
Mordred : You've ask to see me, my lord?
Arthur : Well yes you adorable little thing, I want you to come with me on a mission to find Osgar.
I'm not gonna recreate a dialogue for this, i think Mordred's face is clear enough. Pride and happiness (and fear) all the way.
Even Gwen and her boobs are proud of him.
Arthur : you deserve this Mordred.

Gwen : Looks like you've grown fond of him.
Arthur : One of those things I do.

In this segment i'm gonna tell you both about the episode and the filming for we were there when they filmed it..... It's ok you can hate me i would hate me too.
Episode : So the knights are making fun of Mordred because it's his first mission
Real life : Gwaine's horse was being a little difficult and it took forever to shoot this scene because it wouldn't stop moving around. It was actually funny to watch and Eoin being a great sport was being funny too. Bradley was pretty bored with all this so he was...
...just laying there on the stairs waiting for Eoin' s horse to calm down.
Back to the episode, adorable Mordred is being made fun of and his face is hilarious.
Oh he forgot his dagger! Oh he forgot his water bottle!
Oh he's missing a boot! I guess the knights and I just don't have the same sense of humour.....
Merlin is still unsure about the whole Mordred thing but who could blame him.
Arthur : Stop being a pain Merlin. He is young but he's gonna be awesome!

Gwen, just to be sure, asks Merlin to keep Arthur alive.... He'll try.

Arthur, Mordred and Merlin so one way, Percival and Leon go another and Gwaine and Elyan take the last trail. (There fore you can expect a lot of Gwaine caps that are useless for the plot but good for the soul).

Osgar : I want to give you this... It's your fate Arthur. The Disir sent me to give it to you... Good luck on your crappy destiny.
Arthur : What?
Merlin : Oh oh!

Mordred is shocked.
A few hours later we find Merlin who is building a tombstone for Osgar.
Mordred tells him that he shouldn't be doing that but that he would have done the same for Osgar was one of "them" after all.
It is a nice pile of stones Merlin, well done!
Merlin tells Mordred how he knows one day sorcery will be back in Camelot for good.
Mordred : Until then we go unmarked... in death as in life.
If you are watching this caps in the dark you can't see what's going on... basically Merlin is taking care of my Gwaine...
So i'm not gonna comment on all the caps from that scene because they are too dark but Arthur congratulates Mordred who thinks that Merlin is a good physician. Arthur makes fun of Merlin blablabla...
Back in Camelot, Arthur is (kinda) worried that Merlin hasn't smiles in over three days.
Merlin : There is not much to smile about.

Gaius examines the runemark and he clearly isn't as sure as Arthur about it being some big sorcerer BS. According to Gaius this runemark is the judgement of the Gods and all..... Yep you're screwed Arthur.
Arthur : No but like.... this is nonsense, right?

Arthur : But Merlin i am a good king, right?. I mean i'm nice and all. Everyone loves me and barely anybody gets hanged anymore. The Gods must know i'm not like my father, no?
Merlin : Take it like a warning more than fate...
Arthur : Why does everything keep happening to me?????

So Merlin is, as usual, lost and asks for Kilgarrah's help The latter is happy to finally be doing something.
From what i gathered, Arthur's fate is written and cannot be changed but the way it'll happen will not necessarily be the end of Camelot. Merlin is a little obsessed with Mordred (but aren't we all?) and wants to know if killing him will stop everything and Kilgarrah tells him that he shouldn't pass on his chance to kill the young druid if it ever comes back. I think it's pretty clear that Kiki doesn't like Mordred very much.

Back in the chambers, Athur is thinking really hard and i have to say he looks very handsome doing so.
Gwen brings him some food for it seems he hasn't eaten at dinner. Do you see how well she takes care of him even tough we have no hint that there is anything romantic linking them. Let me see some Arwen for the love of Gwaine!
Gaius's words have really shaken up Arthur and he starts doubting himself... What if he did something to offend the Disir?
Gwen : No Arthur you are wonderful and so gorgeous it must be a mistake.
Knock knock. Get up everyone Arthur wants to go on a mission... AGAIN!!!! He wants to talk to the Disir and see what can be done. I admire the idea Arthur but seriously??? WOuldn't you rather sleep a little???
Arthur : We're leaving.. NOW!
Merlin : (in his head) ever heard of beauty sleep???
Gaius : (in his head telepathically answering Merlin) Apparently not.
The next morning, when everybody is about to leave, Mordred comes to Arthur and asks to go with them.
Mordred : Oh please please please please!!!!!!!!
Arthur : You're like the cat in Shrek i can't say no to those eyes.

Merlin : (in his head) I'm just gonna pretend i'm happy but deep down i want to murder him right now!
So everyone is once again on the road. You can see that everyone looks at their feet apart from Gwaine who is clearly sightseeing.
Arthur : We're here! Lets enter the cave with our swords!
Merlin : I think we should leave them outside.
Arthur : Like i'm gonna listen to you....
Oh look! Dreamcatchers!
Everybody looks very reassured, that's nice.

Arthur : WHat is the meaning of this? I've been a great king and all why are you judging me???
The Disir : we know you've done some good but you aso need to embrace the old religion and stop persecuting those who follow it.
The Disir : You come here, in a sacred place, with weapons and arrogance and you defy us
Merlin : Oh oh
Gwaine : Enough! You speak of the King!

And now they throw a spear at Arthur but....
Mordred jumps in front of him and take the spear un the stomach.

So Arthur wants to know how Mordred is doing but Gaius is very pessimistic because, well, there's nothing he can do.
And Gaius knows that only the Disir can save Mordred now.
And Merlin looks depressed but he has ever since the first episode so we're used to it now.
Arthur is sad...
Gwen tries to make him feel better but let's be honest, just holding Arthur's hands won't help much.
And then Gaius arrives and tell them that there's no time left for Mordred...
And Arthur decides to go back to the Disir to beg for forgiveness.
Yes Merlin, we know you don't approve.
Arthur tells Merlin that he has to save Mordred and that once again he doesn't believe in destiny.
But just in case he leaves his sword outside. You don't want to piss off the three ladies again.

Arthur : Ok ladies i know i screwed up and i was disrespectful and all but my adorable friend Mordred is about to die and i want ou to help him.. pleeeeeaaaaase.
The Disir : Were gonna give you a choice, Arthur Pendragon. Either we save your friend and you accept magic back in Camelot or.... well you don't and your fate will unfold as it is supposed to. You have until dawn.
Arthur and Merlin find themselves a nice place to rest and Arthur is really curious as to how Merlin knew the place was sacred.

Merlin can feel the life all around. He is actually really moving when describing all that surrounds him. Our Merlin is adorable!!!
Arthur is having a really hard time deciding what to do because he remembers how magic nearly destroyed Camelot before if was outlawed.

On their way back, Merlin is a little too happy about Mordred being dead and all.
But when they arrive inside....
Merlin : (in his head) WTF?
Mordred is alive!!!!!!
Merlin : (in his head) WTF????
Mordred : I'm alive!!!!
Arthur : I'm so glad you're not dead little thing.
Merlin : (in his head) WTF???????
Now Merlin realizes that forbidding Magic in Camelot wasn't the right thing (really?) and that Mordred will play his part in Arthur fate. Sometimes i just want to punch you in the face Merlin
Because look how happy everyone is now and imagine how sad they will soon be....

Ok so basically i want Merlin to stop being obsessed with the prophecy because we all know that it's gonna happen anyway so he might just have some fun practicing magic in front of everyone until it happens.
Other than that could you stop throwing my Gwaine in the air all the time, you're gonna break him!
