So far, Series five has brought us blue aliens and ghosts, we don't really know what to expect anymore... I hope we see flying ponies, because I like flying ponies, especially pink ones...

ohoh... that's not a good way to start an episode... We don't know what happened, we don't even know what it is, but there is fire, and smoke... It's pretty amazing how this city(?) is built in the middle of the woods and that no trees are on fire! Whoever they are, they are lucky because if the fire had spread, they would have needed a lot of fire trucks... 
Seems like we often see this guy recently... the bird, not the dead man...
What do we have here??? A huge palace!!! Really, that's fancy! way more welcoming that Annis's castle! Really look at this light and these colors!!! I would have put some more furniture but it looks like the trend at this time was to have huge rooms with only a throne in the middle... they probably liked big spaces... 
So we come closer and I guess he's the owner of the place, and he lost the battle...
And we know her!!! It's Princess Mithian, who was once engaged to Arthur. Nice to see you again Mithian, even if you don't look very well right know... So that's your kingdom.
So the old man on the previous cap was Mithian's dad Rodor.
That's the bad guy, he looks like a bad guy, and he's Odin
And hello Morgana! We missed you last week! you look fully recovered from the wound Mordred inflected you... New hair style? you're right, black hair is so last season! Tendance is reddish now!
Now that I've introduced all the characters in the room, let's talk about what's happening. So Odin attacked Nemeth (that's the name of Rodor's Kingdom) with the help of Morgana, because they are allies of Camelot, so they are ennemies, and Morgana realised that she never manages to take Camelot so, let's be honest, taking another kingdom and waiting for Arthur is as much fun.
Oh and Odin, to thank you for your help, you'll have Arthur... Because Arthur killed Odin's son (they reming us case we had forgotten, and I have to say that I had, so as a friendly reminder : Odin sent the guy who killed Uther in season 4). And Morgana has a plan!

And Mithian seemed worried to. I wonder whose nightgown she's wearing... she probably didn't pack when she left... or did she? 
And Hilde is not feeling very well either

So Morgana is using an aging spell to keep an eye on Mithian
But it's hard to keep an enchantement for so long... everybody is not Merlin!
Morgana warns Mithian that she'd better be very convincing...
The next day, Mithian has to tell her story to Arthur and the court.
I notice 2 things: first, is it just me or Gwen's throne is ridiculously small? and secondly, I like how Merlin stands next to the knights, carefully listening to Mithian... I mean, isn't he still just a servant? I know is way more than that to Arthur but shouldn't he be standing in a corner in the back of the room and not front row center?

So Mithian told Arthur that Odin attacked Nemeth and killed everyone, and she escaped with Hilde and her wounded father, but he couldn't make it to the border and is hiding, with Odin's men looking for him.
So of course Arthur agrees on a rescue mission.
Secret council meeting.
We all notice that Gwaine is eating...
Leon, always about Mithian... so sweet!
so we go, we take Rodor, and we leave
*not so pleased with the idea of riding right to Odin *

Morgana sends a message to Odin to let him know that everything goes as planned... 
So Mithian tries to run away

And Merlin arrives to deliver Mithian's medication
Mithian tries telepathy but it obviously only works if you're a druid

okay now it's pretty obvious it's Morgana! I mean... how can't he recognize her? How can't he feel her powers??? (oh yes, that's right, Merlin and Morgana are the only magical beings who can't sense magic)
Back home, Merlin is worried about Mithian. Telepathy may not have worked but he could see she was scared
He tries to tell Gaius
But Gaius tells him it's normal after what she's been through... Really Gaius? We know Merlin can be stupid but most of the time, he's right about his weird feelings...

Gwen isn't worried that her husband is ready to give up everything to help Mithian, but that he wants to kill Odin... Really? Has noboby told her about the ex-future-queen Mithian?
I was about to delete this cap because it is useless but I just can't delete an Arthur cap, because it is NEVER useless

As Morgana is asleep on the table, Mithian tries to sneak out and to do that...

But Mithian is obvioulsy not the smartest girl in town and left the door open, and that wakes up Morgana...I really would be a terrible guard myself because the wind blowing a candle would NEVER wake me up... Maybe I could be a guard of Camelot... that's another story...
Sorry Mithian but Morgana grew up in this castle....

Oh look who's here!!! Queen Guinevere walking in the corridors by herself in the middle of the night, that is perfectly normal and we won't judge the writers... 
Hilde explains to Gwen that Mithian wasn't feeling well and needed some fresh air... We all know that a corridor is a good place for fresh air, they could at least have opened a window... whatever

In the morning, Merlin tells Arthur how bad this mission is, and as always, Arthur is like "I'm right you're wong"

Merlin isn't very happy but agrees that they have to help Mithian, 
Oh look, on the left, it looks like Santiago the Horse!! Yes we named a horse Santiago in Pierrefonds because we miss Santiago.
And this grey horse looks like our Santiago although I'm not sure that's him, we will let Sabrina judge because she's the one who named the horse so she knows better...
Back to the episode:
Has anyone else noticed that Hilde's horse is now white? I guess they don't have another beautiful Santiago the Horse back in Wales...
No!! I'm sorry, always on the left of the horse!!! (or maybe in the UK, they do it on the right because they do everything on the other side?)

So Mithian makes up a story about being captured by Odin before she escaped
But Merlin doesn't buy it, and Gaius tells him he's wrong
And Arthur tells them it's time to go
Camp fire dinner, the knights on one side, Arthur and Merlin on the other...
Merthur music as they have once again a heart to heart talk about Merlin's weird feeling
Thank you Leeloo!!But after all, and as always, Arthur asks Merlin what he would do, and Merlin would do the same (but certainly involving some magic, we know you Merlin)
That's when Morgana starts to feel weak and needs a check-up by Gaius
Gaius is supposed to be a good physician right??? He's been taking care of Morgana since she was a child and he doesn't recognize her eyes? What is wrong with those people?
In the morning, Mithian is going for a walk away from the camp

Okay that's not what she said but I'm sure that's what she was going to do. Because yes, even a princess has needs and she doesn't have a lot of occasions to sneak out for natural needs, with all those men in chainmail around...
So because she's a princess she tells Morgana / Hilde that she needs to wash up or something like that, and because Morgana is a princess, she understands... but remind her not to do anything stupid
Somewhere else around the camp, Arthur seems to be thinking, or maybe he has just seen a flying pony...
That's when Leon disturbs him to ask him if he's sure this mission is a good idea because, well, it doesn't seem like a good idea to everyone else...
If even Leon has doubts, you shouldn't go Arthur.... You know Leon is the voice of wisdom... No? well, nevermind, let's go right to Odin to save Rodor!
Feeling way better after doing what she had to do by herself in the woods, Mithian goes to Merlin and asks him to go get some water. Really Mithian? Weren't you at the river like 20 seconds ago?
But Merlin is a nice man so he goes, and something catches his eye
okay now I'm laughing...
how on earth did Mithian write this? It can't be engraved because anyone who has ever tried to engrave something on a rock knows how hard it is and there is no way she could have written "Morgana" so clearly in so little time... So I guess Mithian has chalks
So Merlin runs to tell Arthur / stop Morgana / save the world, but not fast enough

I don't believe he couldn't do anything at this point but the writers seem to have forgotten how powerful Merlin is, so he can't do anything...
But thankfully our kingly Arthur is looking for his servant boy and Hilde / Morgana has no other choice than telling everybody that Merlin fell, and because it's Merlin, nobody questions it
Anyone who has seen Colin recently knows that he's not that tiny anymore, and anyone who has seen Tom knows how big and strong he is. I don't know where I'm going with this... Just telling you how strong Tom is I guess. 
how can they believe THIS happened just by falling? I don't know, even if you fall in the woods and knock your head, you have to be running and falling hard to get this kind of injury, no? Okay neverming, he fell on a tree... 
Arthur is pretty annoyed but the situation but they have to go...
What?? Arthur are you leaving Merlin? How can you?
Yes I was kind of shocked because that's the very first time Arthur is leaving an injured Merlin behind, but that's maybe because the injury didn't happen while saving a royal life
And everyone seems shocked too by this decision... Gaius is like "you can't leave him"
Percival is very worried and Leon is like "Are you serious Sire? it's Merlin!!" 
Only Hilde is "okay, let's go bitches", while Mithian is yelling in the inside "YOU CAN'T LEAVE HIM!" 
But of course Arthur is not leaving his Merlin alone! Gwaine is gonna babysit, because Gwaine loves Merlin at least as much as Arthur does. 
Given the fact that this cap is unrevelant to the story, my guess is that it's just for Leeloo's pleasure, so here you go ladies, enjoy this Gwaine cap!
Merlin's hand is getting cold
So Gwaine is sent to get fire wood
Oh okay, Gaius just needed Gwaine away so he could do some magic to heal Merlin, because we don't have time to waste sleeping!

Merlin realises that they all left while he was sleeping and it's not some Morgana's magic that will stop him! "Hey Gwaine, this Hilde lady is Morgana, hurry, let's save some lives!"
Somewhere in the woods, Mithian, Hilde, Arthur and the knights arrive at the tomb where Rodor is supposed to be. Mithian is becoming less and less good at acting.
Gwaine and Merlin run and run to catch up with the others, hoping they'll save the day. 
Arthur and Cie are still staring at the cave because let's be honest, nobody really wants to go in there, it looks creepy and we all know what it means when it looks creepy.
Gwaine and Merlin are still running... wait a minute, didn't they all have horses when they began this journey??? Where is Santiago the Horse?
Arthur finally walks in with Mithian, Hilde and Percival, and leaves everybody else outside
Still on their way to find their friends, Gwaine and Merlin hide from Odin's men...
So Odin's men are as good as Camelot's guards as we can see...
In the tomb, Arthur is all WTF?
"What's going on Mithian? where's your father? why are you doing this?"

Mithian apologies... But personnaly, I wouldn't forgive her because what she did was wrong...

Where are they coming from?? Is this tomb some kind of labyrith and everyone was playing hide and seek as Arthur was walking in?
"Hello Arthur, you fought well, but 2 against 100, you had no chance"

Even Percival can't do anything, but we got to give him credit for knocking out few men with the strengh of his arms.
"Hello dear brother, missed me?"
Arthur isn't even surprised anymore to see Morgana anytime something bad happens to him
Our Arthur is very brave and is ready to die, but he warns Odin that if he dies, all Camelot will avenge him because he's got the best knights ever
yes, those knights... 
Gwaine and Merlin finally made it to the tomb, just in time to see Odin's men capture everybody
So Merlin takes charge and gives his order to Gwaine... They each go their way

I can see that Leeloo shared her Gwaine love once again :-)
That was my favourite moment of the entire episode! Odin's man peeing!! The guy has just captured the King of Camelot and his knights, big time!! I know that sometimes nature calls but come on!!
I do hope Gwaine waited until the guy was done
Yay for Merlin!!! and this one wasn't busy doing something else!
Once again, Merlin is on his way to save everybody, and he even has a sword! Our Merlin is a man now! 
But the sword was just to pretend he could fight for real, because when it comes to saving Arthur, Merlin does what he does best
Earthquake!! 
Everybody out!! Before that, Merlin did use the sword to kill a soldier who was threatening Arthur, and Arthur was all surprised to see his Merlin saving him like this.
But yes, everybody out!
well, not you Morgana, sorry...*throwing her against the wall, that was revenge for throwing Merlin against a tree!*
In the forest, no one notices that the guy who went peeing never came back, and the knights of Camelot wait for their fate... 
I am wondering, is this AFTER the earthquake? or is it at the same time but they can't show us 2 things at the same time...
Because if it's after, Gwaine is not the fastest guy ever, so I'll say it's at the same time...
But wait a minute... If I get it right, the knights of Camelot were at the tomb entrance when they got captured, and Odin's men took them somewhere else, in the forest, leaving a free way to Merlin, that perfectly makes sense...
This show...
Anyway, Gwaine shoots at Odin's men and it's time for the reds to free themselves, Gwaine is not gonna do all the work! 
Look at his smile, running to his friends, all proud of having saved them!
" yeah, you did great mate! love ya!"
So Arthur, Percival, Merlin, Rodor and Mithian escaped, obviously by a way which is not the way where Arthur's knights are.
But Odin's men escaped too, and they don't have an injured old man with them.
(Talking about old man, anyone wonders what Gaius is doing by himself?? no? only me? okay then... )
Odin's men are too many and too fast so Mithian hides behind Merlin... First I laughed thinking "come on girl, that's Merlin!" and then I remembered that Merlin kind of saved them back in the tomb, even if she doesn't know he has magic, she saw him fighting and he's like the hero! I'm telling you, Mithian is fangirling on Merlin!
Okay we got rid of them once but we might not have the same luck then... Arthur sends Rodor and Mithian away with Percy as leads Odin away with Merlin, because yes, when he has to choose between Merlin and Percival to face the man who wants him dead, he chooses Merlin...
Gotcha!
Don't mess with King Arthur, Odin!

Odin didn't get the memo saying there's no better man than Arthur Pendragon when it comes to swordfighting? Too bad for him...
But if Arthur is good with a sword, Merlin is good with words. And Merlin knows Arthur better than anyone, knows that killing Odin is not the answer... 
And Arthur listens to Merlin because he's learnt that his Merlin is wise when it comes to protecting Camelot
So despite his hate for Odin, Arthur does what's best for the kingdom, he offers peace between their kingdoms. Odin's son against Arthur's father, enough lives were lost...
And Odin agrees, because deep inside, he's a king too and cares for his people. 
Look how proud Merlin is!! Arthur learnt his lesson from Caerleon and they are one step closer to the great land of Albion
Back in Camelot, Mithian apologies again for having led Arthur to a trap and thanks him for being so awesome and everything...

Arthur is such a great guy that he forgives Mithian because he knows how cruel Morgana is and after all, they were enganged once... 
Why are Mithian and Rodor still and Camelot?? I thought Odin gave their kingdom back??? Whatever... Gaius is back too! They probably went to pick him up with the horses on the way back to Camelot
Look at those two walking hand in hand in the corridors... How old are you? 16? Gwen is very very proud of Arthur's wisdom, and Arthur tells her that it as actually Merlin who stopped him from bringing another terrible war on Camelot. Yes, Arthur gave credit to Merlin!! After so many years, finally, it happened, mark your calendars!
Back home, Merlin and Gaius talk about how powerful Morgana has become and that scares Merlin...
Come on Merlin! You've been performing the aging spell for years now, and you can stay that way hours and hours without any effort... Morgana is just a baby witch compared to you!
But yes, she's learning and is determined to kill her brother and get her throne...
And we're done!!
